IWA Wins Classroom of Champions

for 2nd Consecutive Year!

 Classroom of Champions

On April 9, 2014, our IWA academic team of Ashwin Veeramani, Will Deucher, and Aidan McCaffrey was victorious with a final score of 430 versus St. Christopher and Harding Middle School of Lakewood at the St. Edward Classroom of Champions finals. This is the second year in a row that the IWA Classroom of Champions team has won the year’s finals!

Our team took an early lead in the first round. However, St. Christopher, in third place after round one, came from behind to take the lead, 185 to our score of 180 in round 2. With a few good answers, our team jumped ahead early in the third round. When the buzzer finally sounded, the final scores were Harding Middle School 170, St. Christopher, 275, and IWA 430. The St. Ed’s trophy will be displayed in the school office until next year’s spring finals. Miss Mileti is proud of our team and the other 8th grade team members who worked every Thursday night to help these boys prepare for the competition. It was a great year for our team, winning at St. Ed’s and at the St. Ignatius Brain Brawl last fall.
