Box Tops

Coordinator:
Cheryl Di Teodoro

Coordinator:
Sue Potoczak

Description:
The Box Top fundraising program is a great way to earn money for our school.  Last year IWA received over $2,400 from this fundraising program which went towards helping the IWA teachers buy supplies for their classrooms.  This year our goal is $3,000 and this can be easily accomplished through many everyday activities such as buying groceries and saving the Box Top labels, shopping online, and purchasing books.

* IWA will be receiving a check for nearly $1,500 thanks to everyone who saved Box Tops over the summer.  Since we had such an amazing collection, there will be three prizes awarded from the IWA certificate program.

The winners are:
$100 Griffiths Family 1008 Box Tops
$25 Halter Family 942 Box Tops
$25 O'Brien Family 603 Box Tops

Learning Garden

Coordinator:
Karen Micheli

Description: The IWA Learning Garden initially began as a butterfly garden idea initiated by the Kindergarten teachers.   The butterfly garden concept expanded into the IWA Learning Garden, which opened in the fall of 2006.   The IWA Learning Garden serves many purposes for the school and the community.  The Learning Garden is a hands-on outside learning lab that enhances the IWA curriculum by educating student about the local and global nature of the environment and wildlife.  Total community involvement is an integral component of the success of the Learning Garden.   This beautiful garden is truly a special place that exemplifies  IWA's motto to "Learn, Love and Serve".

Magazine Drive

Coordinator: Cheryl Fatica & Carolyn Noeth

Description: The Music Boosters is a parents' and teachers' group that supports our students’ music instruction at IWA.  The Boosters have raised funds for the Music Program and other music related activities each year with a Magazine Drive.  Held in the fall, the Drive is very profitable for the school.  On average, 40% of all funds raised return to IWA.

The funds collected have paid for scholarships available to the eighth grade students, the Directors' salaries, new instruments, dinner for the multi-school orchestras and bands when they play at IWA, the annual 4th grade field trip to hear the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall, and other annual requirements for the band and orchestra teachers.
